‘How long will it take?’ deserves a stage-by-stage answer instead of a single optimistic number. Here is the working schedule we run for OEM/ODM jacquard development at Haining — 92 electronic jacquard looms, 30,000+ m², about 70,000 meters woven per day.
Stage 0 — Brief and feasibility (1–3 days)
You send a design file, a photo, or a physical swatch. We check repeat size, structure (yarn-dyed jacquard, clipped sheer, spray-dyed chenille), feasible gsm and width band (upholstery 142–145 cm; curtain 290–300 cm), and confirm yarn availability for your colorways.
Stage 1 — Weave drafting and loom programming (parallel)
The pattern is converted into weave drafting for electronic jacquard heads. Modern digital programming is fast — this stage usually rides inside the sampling window rather than adding to it.
Stage 2 — Lab dips and strike-off sample (7–10 days)
Yarn is dyed to your reference (Pantone or physical chip), then a sample piece is woven. Disperse-dyed polyester takes the fastest route; cotton/linen blend yarns and special effects add days. You receive the strike-off, approve or request one adjustment round. Sample approval is the gate that protects the bulk date — color and hand-feel sign-off happen here, not on the production line.
Stage 3 — Bulk production (15–25 days after approval)
Yarn-dye lots are committed, looms scheduled, greige woven, finished (softener, antibacterial, water/oil/stain repellent per your spec), inspected on a 4-point system, and packed on rollers with outer cartons. Stock items, by contrast, can ship in days — and can even be cut from 1 meter for mock-ups.
Stage 4 — Documentation and shipping
Commercial invoice, packing list, B/L; certificate copies (OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 Class I, SH015 264621) and batch test reports on request. FOB, CIF, EXW or DDP — FOB/CIF most common.
What actually moves the date
- Fast: choosing a registered pattern from our library; standard polyester colorways; approvals within 48 h; orders outside the pre-Christmas and pre-Spring-Festival peaks.
- Slow: three-way color approvals, new blend yarns, FR certification projects (lab slot booking), and order changes after cutting.
Plan MOQ into the schedule: made-to-order runs are 600 meters per color as standard. Send your design file and target in-market date to [email protected] or WhatsApp +86 180 6701 0111 — we will reverse-engineer the milestone calendar from your ship date.
